I've been studying engine swaps for my 86 gt for a few months. It'll be
a good while before I can get started on it but I've always been into
planning way ahead. For the longest time I've been mulling over a
northstar conversion or just tossing a turbo on the original engine.
The original engine has 130k on it though and I'm not really sure it
would last that long with the power boost.
Today I ran across a company offering 2.0l sc ecotecs. Has anyone
personally had any experience with the ecotec in a fiero? I've read
that you can get around 350hp out of these engines with a few upgrades
and it seems like this may be what I'm looking for. I want as much
horsepower as I can get with as little weight added to the car.

I'm not dead!

Yes you are.

No I'm not! I was just resting!

You'll be dead soon...

I feel fine!

No. You asked if anyone had any personal experience putting Ecotecs
into Fieros. No response = no experience. ;)

Personally I'm not sold on the Ecotec just yet. GM has an unlimited
budget, so they can afford to dump tons of cash into an engine, get
gobs of power out of it, and if it blows up? Oh well. And obviously
they aren't concerned about reliability in "one off" engines.

Heh. Yeah, I was saying it was dead because I've been watching for a
week and there isn't much going on. But, thanks for the input.
